Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift is a satirical novel published in 1726. It follows Lemuel Gulliver, a surgeon and sea captain, on four fantastical voyages that expose various aspects of human nature and society:

1. Lilliput: Gulliver finds himself in a land inhabited by tiny people, highlighting themes of petty conflicts and political intrigue.

2. Brobdingnag: In this land of giants, Gulliver is viewed as a curious oddity, leading to reflections on human arrogance and the scale of power.

3. Laputa: This floating island is home to intellectuals obsessed with impractical scientific endeavors, satirizing the disconnect between theoretical knowledge and practical utility.

4. Houyhnhnms and Yahoos: Gulliver encounters rational horses (Houyhnhnms) and brutish, degenerate humans (Yahoos), critiquing human vice and the nature of reason and civilization.

Swift’s work is renowned for its incisive social commentary, exploring themes of human folly, corruption, and the limits of reason.
